Seymour Racing Club - Fashions On The Field
With the Darley Seymour Cup only a short time away, now is the time to get shopping for your new outfit for a strut down the catwalk at this years Cup, Fashions On The Field event.
With a strong emphasis on colourful spring fashions for 2010, competitors will be judged on their use of style, colour and the contestant’s ability to use accessories to best complement his or her outfit. There are several categories at this years Cup including overall best dressed racegoer of the day, best dressed couple, best hat, best dressed young racegoer of the day (15 – 21) and best dressed junior racegoer of the day (14 & under).
Sponsors and prizes of the event have been announced with the Seymour Racing Club to sponsor the first prize for the main event, the best dressed racegoer of the day. First prize is an entertainment package at the Seymour Racing Club for eight people on the 23rd December Christmas Party Race day in the Bar Landy Restaurant, includes admission, race book, two course buffet luncheon and beer, wine and soft drinks and is valued at $600. Second and third prizes are sponsored by Tabasco Lodge and include gift packages from Arbonne beauty products.
The remaining categories are sponsored by other fantastic local businesses including Burton Stores, Nouveau Photography and Halls Showcase Jewellers. Each category has amazing prizes for first, second and third placegetters.
So if you have your new outfit and like the sound of winning one of the great prizes sponsored by one of our local businesses then get on down to the Darley Seymour Cup and place your entry with us by 1pm at the information booth located at the end of the entrance walkway. You may even like to make a day of it by booking a marquee, mini marquee, shade canopy or umbrella down on the lawn and take advantage of the terrific catering packages from Café Chariot and the Kilmore Kurry Palace/Little Buddha Thai Restaurant.
Category 1 Seymour Racing Club/Arbonne Racegoer of the Day
This category will be judged on the use of style, colour and the contestant’s ability to use accessories to best complement his or her outfit. It will be the overall look that should signify the spring fashions of 2010. The contestant can be of any age.

Category 2 Halls Showcase Jewellers Young Racegoer of the Day
Again the judging for this category will be based on the criteria of the Racegoer of the Day. Contestants can be of either gender but between the ages of 15 and 21.
1st Prize: $250 spending voucher from Halls Showcase Jewellers
Runner Up: $100 spending voucher from Halls Showcase Jewellers
Third Place: $50 spending voucher from Halls Showcase Jewellers
Category 3 Nouveau Photography Most Glamorous Duo
This category will allow for couples or friends to participate together. Judges will be looking for a mix of style and elegance, colour co-ordination and the representation of modern spring racing fashion.
1st Prize: $280 gift pack from Nouveau Photography
Runner Up: $80 gift pack from Nouveau Photography
Third Prize: $40 gift pack from Nouveau Photography
Category 4 Burton Stores Best Hat
This category is judged on the most attractive head wear including a hat or fascinator. Again bright colours will be a key factor for the judges and the head wear should suitably complement the racegoers outfit.
1st Prize: $250 spending voucher from Burton Stores
Runner Up: $100 spending voucher from Burton Stores
Third Prize: $50 spending voucher from Burton Stores
Category 5 Seymour Racing Club Junior Racegoer of the Day
Judges will be looking for style and taste in keeping with the Spring theme. Contestants can be of either gender but must be aged 14 or under.
1st Prize: $100 prize pack from Seymour Racing Club
Runner Up: $50 prize pack from Seymour Racing Club
Third Prize: $25 prize pack from Seymour Racing Club
Entries for all categories will be taken at the Information Booth on Darley Seymour Cup Day
